Sup Gang!
Today is all about gadgets — a specific gadget in particular: the ASUS ROG Raikiri Pro Controller. ASUS unveiled their new ROG controller as having a built-in, customizable 1.3-inch OLED screen display. This is the first licensed Xbox controller to offer “tri-mode” connections, where you can use Bluetooth, RF or USB-C (fancy schmancy). The Xbox/Windows ready peripheral can show useful information, such as: charging status, microphone mute and the active profile. It could also just be used to make your controller look super cool with custom images, text and/or animations. You will never have to worry about anyone “forgetting” which controller belongs to you.

Some limitations include the fact that wireless functionality is only available with a PC. ASUS has stated that they can only promise Xbox support though USB for now (which is odd considering it is advertised as an Xbox controller… but that is neither here nor there). However, if you like the flexibility of being able to connect to different gaming machines, then this is really for you. I am regularly switching between my PC, Xbox and Switch — so I am really digging the possibilities. The Raikiri even includes an ESS DAC to boost the audio from the 3.5mm headset jack.
The ASUS ROG Raikiri Pro Xbox Controller is an exclusive controller designed for the Xbox One. It features intuitive rear controls that can be programmed via their Armoury Crate app. All the buttons can be remapped, joystick sensitivity and there are selectable step triggers. The controller has been designed to give gamers an edge over their opponents through its customization options. The ROG Raikiri Pro is designed with ergonomics in mind so that it fits comfortably in your hand, no matter the size, during long gaming sessions.

The design is fun — as it incorporates Easter eggs for hardcore ROG fans and has a sci-fi inspired, cyberpunk vibe. This controller, ideal for PC-gaming and next-gen consoles, does not have a price point yet that I can tell. Keep up with the product and it’s release on the ASUS site. I am definitely going to be keeping tabs on this for a product review!
